Ruth 3 is fascinating! Naomi is planning (God is her guide). Widowed women in Bible times have no means to live. They count on the charity of others.
HOWEVER -- They may establish a home again IF a relative of their husband marries them.
Guess what? Boaz is a relative!!! Naomi is only thinking of her precious Ruth. She wants her to be provided for.
Naomi instructs Ruth on how to humbly present herself to Boaz.
What a show of integrity! Boaz is not only enchanted by Ruth, he respects her so much! This is a true romantic interlude!
Boaz protects Ruth - physically, emotionally and spiritually. He wants to do things God's way .
He begins the process to become the kinsman redeemer for Ruth. BUT - because Boaz has so much integrity -- He will not proceed until he checks things out with another male relative who is first in line for Ruth. Again, Boaz wants to do things right, even if it involves sacrifice of someone he loves.
WHAT will happen? Will the other guy want Ruth? Will Boaz propose? What is this a picture of?
